The fight for your jobs is on, right after Governor Jan Brewer, signed bill 2010 the lobbyist for the private prison companies went into full swing, meeting with lawmakers and Senators like Russell Pearce. These lobbyists not only have millions of dollars but also have political connections, pushing lawmakers to approve the privatization of Arizonans Prisons.

If we (Officers) allow this to happen, rest assure that none of us will have jobs. This is the time to protect the jobs we were sworn to do for the citizens of Arizona. The outfall we wreak havoc to an already weak Arizona economy and unemployment rate.

The loss of Arizona Correctional Officers / jobs, would impact the state dramatically with more home foreclosures, more unemployment, and less trained prison guards to protection Arizona citizens from some of the most dangerous, murders, rapist, child molesters.

We are not prison guards, we are sworn officers trained by the state of Arizona, we raised our right hands and swore to uphold an oath, to protect the citizens of Arizona.  

Think about how many correctional officers will be going after their CORP money (retirement fund) if we go private. What's the plan there? Who is to say you will get your fair share.

What can you do?

Registered to vote / Vote the politicians the support private prisons out of office

Call and write your Governor and your Senators, We have over 9 thousand DOC employees and if we all vote, “We Will Be Herd”
